Privacy Policy

MockXams ("we," "us," "our") operates mockxams.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). By creating an account and using MockXams you agree to this policy. Optional analytics are only switched on if you say yes (see "Analytics and cookies").

Personal Data We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use this to create and identify your account. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or any other Google data beyond basic sign-in information. We never see or store a password — MockXams has no passwords.

Test activity. The mocks you start and submit, your answers, scores, time spent per question, and — for a mock you've started but not finished — roughly how far through it you got (a percentage), so we can show "left off at". Ratings and comments you choose to leave in the feedback prompt are stored with your account.

Purchase and coupon records. Which Exam Pack you bought, the amount paid, the Razorpay order and payment reference, and — if you used one — which coupon. Payments themselves are handled entirely by Razorpay; we do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.

Security and abuse-prevention data. A randomly generated device identifier kept in your browser (so an account is active on one device at a time), and — only when you try to apply a coupon — your IP address and the time of the attempt, used to rate-limit guessing of coupon codes. Those coupon attempt records are automatically deleted after 7 days.

Usage analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics, Google Analytics records pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type and similar aggregate usage. See "Analytics and cookies" below.

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health, biometric or financial account details, and we do not knowingly collect any data beyond what is listed here.

Why We Use It

• • To create and maintain your account and sign you in
• • To deliver mock tests, score them on our servers, and show your results and history
• • To process payments, apply coupons, and grant access to what you purchased
• • To keep accounts secure, limit each account to one device, and prevent fraud, sharing and coupon abuse
• • To understand, in aggregate and only if you consent, how the site is used so we can improve it
• • To respond to your support requests and to meet our legal obligations

We use your data only for these purposes. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or for profiling you for third parties.

Analytics and Cookies

MockXams uses your browser's storage in three ways:

• • Essential (always on): your sign-in session, the device identifier, your consent choice, a light/dark preference on the test screen, and short-lived flags that remember which page animations you've already seen this session. The site cannot work without the first two.
• • Vercel Web Analytics (always on, no cookies): our host provides aggregate, cookie-less page-view counts that do not identify you or follow you across sites.
• • Google Analytics 4 (optional, off until you agree): loaded only after you click "Accept" on the notice shown on your first visit. If you click "Decline", or ignore the notice, it is never loaded. Google may set cookies and process usage data on our behalf; see Google's own privacy policy for how it handles that data.

You can change your mind at any time — use the button below (or the "Analytics preferences" link in the site footer). Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and it stops further analytics from loading.

Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with the service providers below, only to run the platform, and each is bound by its own privacy terms:

• • Google — sign-in (always), and Analytics (only if you consent)
• • Supabase — our database and authentication provider, where your account and test data is stored
• • Razorpay — payment processing
• • Vercel — website hosting and cookie-less aggregate analytics

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside India. We may also disclose data where required by law, a court order, or a government authority entitled to ask for it, or to protect the rights and safety of MockXams and its users. If MockXams is ever sold or merged, your data would transfer under the same protections.

How Long We Keep Data

• • Account and test data: for as long as your account is active, until you delete it
• • Individual attempts: until you delete them from the My Results page, or delete your account
• • Coupon attempt records (IP address, time): 7 days
• • Payment and invoice records: as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them — if you delete your account they are set aside in a separate archive (with your email and name)
• • Coupon use: a note that a coupon was used with your (normalised) email address stays after account deletion, with no link to an account, so the same code can't be used twice
• • Support emails: as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards

Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act and Indian law you can, at any time:

• • Download a copy of your data, or delete your account, yourself at any time from Account & data
• • Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with
• • Ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data
• • Ask us to erase your data and account (payment records we must legally retain are excluded)
• • Withdraw any consent you gave, including analytics consent, as easily as you gave it
• • Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to
• • Complain to us (below) and, if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India

To exercise a right, email support@mockxams.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it's really you. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing done earlier on the basis of that consent.

Age Requirement

MockXams is meant for adults preparing for competitive exams and is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and we do not track or profile children. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Test answers are scored on our servers, access to data is restricted to your own account by database-level rules, and payment details never touch our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell you on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy; where the law requires fresh consent, we will ask for it.
